Iowa Governor Branstad, who has repeatedly expressed his public support for expanding learning time, recently took a concrete step that might mean real reform for Iowa’s children.  On May 25, 2012, Governor Branstad signed SB 2284 into law, which, among other reforms, establishes a K-12 Instructional Time Task Force, which will open the door to meaningful expanded learning time in Iowa schools in the years to come.  This is an encouraging and thoughtful first step and we are hopeful to see more progress in Iowa over the coming months and years.

To our Iowa supporters – please take a moment to send a short note of thanks to your Governor.
