STATEMENT FROM TSC NATIONAL DIRECTOR BLAIR BROWN
ON SENATE PASSAGE OF OK BILL 268 TO ADD DAYS TO SCHOOL YEAR
“The bill passed by the Oklahoma State Senate last night to enable schools to add five days to the school year is an encouraging step forward for Oklahoma students and schools. Over 1,000 schools across the country are expanding learning time because they know their students need more time in order to be prepared for success in college, career and beyond. By moving this bill forward, the Oklahoma State Senate is giving education and community leaders more tools when their students are falling behind.
We applaud Senator Stanislawski’s leadership on this issue and urge the House to give the bill strong consideration.”
