Last month, as summer was in full swing, we asked, “What summer activities do you think are most effective in curbing summer learning loss?”

Here’s how you and your fellow TSC signatories responded:

There are some great examples all over the country of schools and districts doing the very things you think help curb summer learning loss. Among those that have redesigned the way they are approaching the 2013-14 school year — whether through a longer day, longer school year, or a combination of both – are schools in New York City, Elkhart, OH; Ypsilanti, MI; and Manassas, VA. Each use the expanded time to better meet the needs of their students, teachers, and communities. We know there’s no one solution when it comes to giving students the time they need to succeed and we applaud these communities.
